Visiting Our Pensioners: Tough Money Times Ahead in Zimbabwe?

Once again I have done my normal monthly rounds, leaving assessment forms with a number of pensioners, as the ones we have on file are rather old. This means that for the next two weeks I will be visiting them again to do the forms with them. This way, they have time to get correct information on their children.

Many of the pensioners are worried about the bond notes and most fear that we are heading for the terrible times we had in 2008. Only time will tell what lies ahead.

I must say it was a very colourful time for me as we have had a terrible wet, cold spell, so all were wrapped up in what they could find – some with three jerseys, one even had on two pairs of trousers, many had warm blankets wrapped around themselves and most of the ladies had doekies on (headscarves). One lady had no jersey on and when asked, she told me she does have, but I wonder.

May God’s blessings surround you each day, as you trust Him and walk in His way, may His presence within guard and keep you from sin – go in peace, go in joy, go in love.
